WONDER: Developing an Inquiry Question
After conducting your preliminary research, from your narrowed topics, begin developing one or more Inquiry Questions. The final question you select must be of interest to you and meet the criteria for a good inquiry question. It is very important because it will guide the rest of your research.
Criteria for a strong Inquiry Question:
Keep asking yourself Reflective Questions as you research:
Is this true? What is my opinion about that? Why do I think that? How does this connect to what I read in another source? Why does this matter? What other points of view do I need to pursue? What evidence or ideas are missing? Does this information support or refute my tentative line of argument? What else do I need to find out to develop my conclusion?
